Don’t Count Yourself Out!

In life, we sometimes get discouraged because things don’t always go as planned. Just because you may feel that you have dropped the ball, don’t be afraid to pick it back up. The most successful people in the world have had the most failures, but they refused to give up! You may not have gotten it right the first time, but try again. It is important to learn from what didn’t work and discover ways and strategies to improve! You have more to gain than what you could lose! Consistency is key! If you are consistent, you will develop a routine and it will become a habit! When something becomes a habit, you can almost guarantee that you will get the results you want by continuing to stay focused and keep pressing despite the obstacles and stumbling blocks! There will still be some occasions where you get it wrong, but don’t count yourself out! Keep going while looking ahead…don’t focus on the past!

Don’t Give Up, Give In, or Give Out

Mental illness is a very serious issue that a lot of people choose to avoid unless it affects someone they are close to. Awareness on this subject is very important. I encourage each of you to invest some time into researching these issues so you will have better understanding.

Let’s encourage those who are dealing with mental illness and be mindful of what we say concerning it because a lot of times it goes unnoticed during the hustle and bustle of our busy lives!!

Get Ready for Your Breakthrough

We all go through hardships and difficult times in our lives, but it is up to us how we handle it. We have one of 2 choices: (1) Go through with a negative mindset and potentially become a victim of circumstances or (2) Go through with a positive mindset with your thoughts on the fact that we “grow through what we go through.”

I know this sounds easier said than done, but I have done it and I know you can do it as well. One of the most important lessons I have learned before my breakthroughs was that “going through helps me get to.” If you never go through anything your level of growth will remain at a standstill. It is very critical to realize that growth helps you get to the next level and we attain growth from our experiences.

You have been going through for a while no and you are right at your breakthrough. Don’t give up, give in, or give out.” Trust me, it is worth it to stay in the race!!!

The Best Is Yet To Come

In life, we face many challenges and obstacles! It is how we handle them that determines the next steps of our life.  I am a firm believer that your mindset determines your outcome!

There are several people that are in my inner circle that are facing a variety of hardships whether financially, physically, or mentally! I do my best to encourage them and let them know that the best is yet to come and to stand firm.

When you are facing difficult situations in life, it is of extreme importance to surround yourself only with positive people. This may seem hard for some people to do because some of the negative people in your lives may be close family members or friends. You have to remember that before you can effectively take care or love anyone else, you must take care of and love yourself.  During those rough times in your life, you have to stay positive because any minor setback can cause you to make a decision that will have your life completely out of control.

It is when you change your mindset from negative to positive, that you will begin to see that things are not as bad as you thought they were. I truly feel that this is a season restoration, so whatever you feel that you have lost, will be given back to you double fold. In other words, you will get double for your trouble! Look forward toward your future instead of backwards at your past because you will see that the best is yet to come…when it comes, it will be here to stay! Do you believe that? I DO!!!

Season of Production, Overflow, and Perfection

2014 has been quite a year so far!! I have had some successes as well as some failures! In the midst of it all, I am grateful! I have found that there are many people who allow there situation to dictate their next move, but I have learned from experience that when you act based off of emotion it almost always goes wrong!! At the end of 2013 I came to the realization that 2014 was going to be a year of production,  overflow, and perfection.

Production can be defined as the making or creation of something.  I have been busy not only making things to benefit others, but also creating programs and workshops to help others as well.  In order to produce something, you have to do something. You can’t have output without input. What you put into something is usually what you get out. For example, if you decide you want to be a doctor and you never attend class or study, then you will not be able to accomplish those goals! I have found from experience, that “passion produces fruit.” Fruit can be defined as the produce of any plant grown or harvested by humans. When I say “passion produces fruit”, I mean that whatever you are passionate about (i.e career, family, relationships, health, etc.) is manifested into a product (success, peace of mind, freedom, good health, and financial freedom). We tend to spend more time on cultivating things we are passionate about. When I left my job in Corporate America, it was because I was not passionate about it. I left there to start my own business doing something I was passionate about, but in addition to being passionate, I found out that I had to put in a LOT of work and patience (I did a lot of sowing and now it is my time to reap a harvest). My goal was to work so hard at it, that there would be an overflow.

When I realized that this year would be a year of overflow, I immediately  sought after God again for more guidance concerning my next move. In this season, we cannot afford to be moving in the wrong direction…so much depends on it! Overflow can be defined as excess or surplus. In order to receive the overflow, you have to be obedient. Yes, obedient. A lot of times we find ourselves doing things on our own and it can be a recipe for disaster. We sometimes get so focused on what “we want” to do and  what “we want” to accomplish that “we lose” sight of why we are here in the first place.

Perfection is a word that is often used, but it is described as being unattainable. When I use the word perfection, I mean that this is a season where we reach our highest degree of proficiency and skill. I know that you are thinking that no one can be perfect, but I am not saying that we as humans are going to encounter a season of being perfect. I am saying that God wants to perfect the gifts, visions, and dreams that He has given us concerning our lives. Our lives are not our own because they belong to Him. You can just look around and see that we are only here because of His grace and mercy.

As mentioned earlier, in order to receive all of these things, we have to be “obedient”. Always remember that obedience is better than sacrifice (1 Samuel 15:22 KJV). Continue to walk in your calling/purpose and do not be afraid to use the gifts that God has blessed you with. Remember that your gift will make room for you (Proverbs 18:16). If you don’t know what your purpose is, seek God  (Matthew 7:7).

Until Next Time, Stay Blessed

Where Are You Going?

Lately, I have been pondering this simple quote that came to mind…”Don’t take negative steps forward.” A lot of times people feel that they are moving forward, but what you have to ask yourself is are you moving forward in the right direction. It is important to do a regular self-evaluation of your life in order to stay on the right track. During the hustle and bustle of things, not only do we sometimes lose sight of who we are, but also what our purpose is and what our goals and aspirations are.

If you never think about where you are going, chances are, you will find yourself going nowhere fast. I have found that to be dangerous territory to be in because during that time, you are just existing and not living. When you think about where you are going, it is very crucial that you are completely honest with yourself abut where you are in life at that very moment.

In closing, one of the best gifts you can give yourself is the gift of “truth”. When you can master how to truly be true to yourself, it is then that you can begin to take positive steps forward instead of negative steps forward!

New Beginnings

Do you know of anyone that is afraid of change. Are you afraid of change? Both of those are important questions to think about. In life, I have learned that the only thing constant is change. Changes can take place instantly or over an extended period of time. Either way, at some point, we all experience change. For me, the best way to describe change is “new beginnings”. New beginning may be a little intimidating, but it is only because it is “new”. Once you learn how to embrace change and accept new beginning, life will become a lot less stressful.

For example, some of the friends you had in elementary school may not be your friends at this point in your life. You change and people change. We have to remember not to hold grudges when people we were once close to walk out of our lives. Some people are supposed to be in your life for a season and some for a lifetime. This is something that everyone, everywhere has to deal with.

The best advice that I can give you concerning new beginnings, is that when you meet new people it creates new opportunities. I know that Drake says, No New Friends”, but in order to move forward in life you will encounter new people and experiences. Embrace the opportunities for change in order to grow and learn along your journey!

Mind Over Matter

In life, we all face situations where our mindset can affect us negatively or positively! It is ultimately up to us which one we allow. There is one important thing we must do if we want to reach our full potential!

We have to change our “stinking thinking”! When life happens, we sometimes find ourselves in a state of what I call a “brain attack”. During this time, we only have negative thoughts and never try to find the positive in the circumstance or find a way to get through it. Instead, we mope around and let life happen instead of making things happen. We must get into a habit of thinking positive thoughts and not letting people or situations keep us down. When things happen, shake it off and get back on focus!

If people will tap into the power they possess within themselves, they will realize it is just a case of mind over matter. If you have a positive mindset, you can overcome any matter at hand! Always remember, “Your mindset determines your outcome.”

A Fighting Chance

We all deserve to win in life, but some of us will give up before that happens! While you are going through, be careful not to give up before you break through! I’m not saying that it is easy to disregard any challenges we face and stay focused. At some point, we all lose focus, but you must NOT stay off focus.

One thing that helps me to reach my goals is posting affirmations around the house. The more you write and recite your goals, the closer you will become to reaching them! never give up just because life throws you a curveball. Go back up to the plate and hit a homerun. NO one who was ever successful went through life without failing at something! Always remember that you deserve a fighting chance! I believe in you and I hope you believe in yourself!

Make It Happen

This is the season for you to make things happen and stop letting things happen!  Start writing down and posting your affirmations and goals! When you do this, you are holding yourself accountable to make progress and not just talk about what you want to do! When you write a goal, be specific and set a date in which you will have it accomplished!

Sometimes we like to blame others for why our life hasn’t turned out the way to be expected, but we get in our own way. We put so much emphasis on what people think of us and will they support our endeavors that we back out and just live a mediocre life! You weren’t created to just barely make ends meet! Starting today, make up in your mind that you are going to make things happen! Don’t say you don’t have time because tehy time spent on social networks is plenty of time for you to do research and work on personal development to get you to the next level! Go and grow…Make It Happen!
